Matchbox Jurassic World Vehicles.

Matchbox Jurassic World. This line was a surprise to me when it appeared a few years back.  A reasonably large selection of JP vehicles encompassing actual movie vehicles and some Matchbox inventions and encompassing several films all offered and at the same price as other Matchbox.   Included in the line are a quite a few vehicles that are pretty close to HO.  2 years later, some of vehicles may be a bit harder to find, but some have already been re-released in other forms. Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6 This is a pretty big SUV and except for the comically large tires, it's pretty close to HO scale.  Should be easy to find as it was in a 2020 Matchbox collection. Fleetwood Southwind RV.  Too small for HO, but with a repaint this could make an excellent construction office back-set scene. The louvered security windows are definitely the sort of thing that one would see on an urban construction office. Off-Road Rescue Rig A little small, but not too bad.  Though technically generic, it's nearly an exact clone of an Oshkosh FMTV for you military fans. The orange rack is removable. Utility Truck (aka "Guzzler", aka "MBX Tanker") Pictured below is my favorite -though much earlier and harder to find- "Air Products" version of this common matchbox vehicle.  It's spot on for HO and looks very much like an early 00's GMC Truck.   It was also the vehicle The Jade Fog used when he made me a couple of "Jade Fog Industries" tank trucks pictured here. Here's the Jurassic Park version.  Needs a repaint but it's a darn good looking truck for a buck with many potential uses, not least of which might be to remove the tank and substitute a different bed or box. The most current version is only part of a Top Gun 5 Pack, but there have been over 30 versions of this released over the past 15 years so it should be easy to find one. Mercedes-Benz Unimog U 5020  This would be the best Unimog Matchbox has ever made and probably the closest to HO scale in not for the equally good U300 that I'll be showing in a future post.  Soft top is removable.  '10 Textron Tiger One notable lack from this post is the Textron Tiger, an actual vehicle that seems to have sold poorly as it no longer appears on the Textron website.  Neat vehicle though that could easily find a home on the layout as a police tactical vehicle. It and a couple of other Military'ish vehicles will make an appearance in a future post. Additionally, there are just a couple more JP/JW series vehicles that are close to HO, but are a bit more fantasy military in nature that I do not own. Those interested can see them here:  matchbox.wikia.com/wiki/Jurassic_World_(2018_Series) They are the Armored Action Truck, and Action Armored Transporter In conclusion, while some of these are no longer readily available in stores, these often appear at discount outlets and are plentiful online.   If nothing else, the "Gas Guzzler" is an easy to find vehicle that belongs on any 90's or later HO layout.
