IC in Kankakee. GP38-2 9622
Last summer after a gig in Kankakee I stopped by a portion of the Illinois Central railroad just down the tracks from the Kankakee Station. There I spotted this Illinois Central (now a subsidiary of Canadian National) GP38-2 #9622.
Built in 1974 and christened "Nan Carter". I've been unable to determine exactly who that is but there does appear top be someone by that name who edited an IC journal at one time decades ago.
No definite date for this livery but many similar IC GP38-2 locos were updated and repainted to CN colors in 2008 so that seems likely.
Happy trainspotting!
