Toy Car Scale Comparison: MB1187 '10 Ford Animal Control

Matchbox has just a released a new Ford F series truck with the best (for HO) sized cab yet.

Here we have a very nice model of a relatively niche subject matter.  An animal control truck. It could also be a transport for a K9 Patrol/Guard company of the sort that is common in cities.  Perhaps  even some other variety of truck with metal storage cabinetry installed.  I'm not sure why they chose a 2010 model for a 2019 release, but such are the mysteries of Matchbox model selection.



As you can see the size is great for a modern heavy duty F series truck. It also has the least offensive of the Matchbox Wheel designs.  These look particularly good when you black out the outer rim and leave the inside shiny.

Detail is quite good.

What I'm most impressed with is that it has the best sized cab for HO of all the recent Matchbox F-series trucks.  Not to say the others are too bad, but this one is a bit smaller and even better.

I didn't have a Ford F550 Super Duty at hand when I did the comparison, but rest assure it will be reviewed soon.

I think the animal control cab and frame is a prime candidate for swapping on different beds or backs.  The Stake bed would probably fit right on and the dump from Man TGS Dump would proabably work as well.

All this to say, here's another must-have for the budget railroader who is doing a modern setting.
