Chicago Trainspotting: DASH 8-40CM, BC Rail 4619

For my inaugural "Chicago Trainspotting"  post I've got something special.

This is BCOL 4619, an 8-40CM (aka GE C40-8M). Taken in March of 2018 it shows 4619  facing Eastward stopped just east of Cicero Avenue about a mile east of the CN Hawthorne Yard.

Internally the 8-40CM is the same as the far more common 8-40CW but it has different trucks and a full cowl body.  Only about 100 of these were made and only for Canadian railroads.  Of these only 26 were for BC Rail and since Canadian National took over BC Rail 14 years ago, it's unclear how many of these still wear their BC Colors.

 Happy Trainspotting!
